Associate - Urban Designer

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership :
• Manage urban design projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and AECOM's standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, architects, engineers, and economists, to deliver integrated solutions.
• Oversee the preparation of master plans, urban analytics, and public space strategies.
• Client Engagement :
• Act as a one of the primary points of contact for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their needs.
• Present design concepts and strategies to clients, stakeholders, and public audiences.
• Design and Innovation :
• Play a key role in the development of visionary and evidence-based urban design strategies that incorporate data-driven insights.
• Address key urban challenges such as climate adaptation, social inclusion, and economic resilience.
• Integrate sustainable design principles, including green infrastructure.
• Team Development :
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to the professional growth of the team.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Strategic Contributions :
• Contribute to AECOM's thought leadership in urban design by participating in research, publications, and industry events.
• Support business development efforts by preparing proposals and identifying new opportunities.

• **Qualifications**
• **Educational Background**: Degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field
• **Experience**: 10+ years in urban design with proven track record leading complex projects
• **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS; strong design and visualization capabilities
• **Professional Competencies**: Excellent communication and presentation abilities; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
