About the role
We are seeking a Senior Drupal / WebOps Engineer to help operate, maintain, and extend a large-scale enterprise web platform powering 400+ Drupal sites. Responsibilities
- CI/CD & Platform Automation
- Maintain and extend GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines
- Manage automated workflows for MultiDev environment creation (Pantheon), Canary deployments, phased releases, and fleet-wide upstream deployments
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures and improve resiliency and observability
- Enhance automation around release processes, including changelog generation and deployment validation
- Pantheon & Hosting Operations
- Work with Pantheon platform tooling (Terminus CLI, MultiDev environments, upstream management, and site orchestration)
- Support platform stability, deployment workflows, and environment lifecycle management
- Drupal Engineering (Backend Focus)
- Contribute to and maintain a Drupal 10-based multi-tenant platform
- Develop and support custom modules, integrations, and backend logic
- Debug and resolve issues across a shared codebase impacting multiple sites
- Ensure best practices for performance, security, and maintainability
- Automation & Observability
- Extend automation using Quicksilver (even-driven workflows) and messaging integrations (e.g., Google Chat notifications)
- Improve visibility into system health, deployment outcomes, and failures

- Core Requirements
- +90% English written and oral (at least C1 level) with excellent communication skills
- 3-6+ years of experience with Drupal (8/9/10) and PHP
- Experience working with the Pantheon hosting platform
- Hands-on experience with Terminus CLI, MultiDev workflows, and upstream-based Drupal architectures
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Comfortable debugging across application code, deployment pipelines, and hosting/platform environments
- Experience working in multi-site or multi-tenant architectures
- Strong understanding of version control (Git), deployment strategies (canary, phased rollouts), and environment management (dev/test/prod isolation)
- Ability to work across both application code and infrastructure workflows
- Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)
- Frontend experience with Vue.js and TypeScript
- Scripting or backend experience with Node.js or Python
- Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG, VPAT)
- Familiarity with search platforms (MongoDB Atlas Search, vector search, RAG systems)
- Knowledge of release automation patterns (auto-generated changelogs, commit parsing, etc.)
