  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail and manual dexterity for cross sectioning and polishing of samples.
  • Laboratory environment may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gloves, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE.
  • May be occasionally exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes, and chemicals used for decapsulation, potting of samples, and etching.

Job Summary: The Component and Failure Analysis Engineer analyzes failures and construction of aerospace and defense electronic components and assemblies using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. They perform tests and imaging to assess component integrity and compliance to specifications. They prepare and publish clear reports for internal and external use. Essential Functions: Perform Component-Level failure and construction analyses on a variety of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical components and assemblies used in Aerospace and Defense applications. Use multiple tools during the analyses, including electrical test equipment, temperature chambers, X-Ray Imaging, Optical Imaging, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Electron Dispersive Spectroscopy and X-Ray Fluorescence. Prepare analysis reports for internal and external customers conveying complex information in a concise and insightful manner.
