Responsibilities

  • Design and implement EHR integrations (Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, Canvas, Healthie) for bidirectional data exchange
  • Build FHIR-based APIs and HL7 interfaces that enable agents to access patient records and write clinical documentation
  • Navigate health system IT environments: authentication (OAuth, SMART on FHIR), network configurations, and data access policies
  • Build reliable data fetching pipelines that agents use to retrieve patient context during clinical workflows
  • Design integration architectures that handle PHI securely and maintain audit trails
  • Work directly with health system IT teams to scope, implement, and validate integrations
  • Build monitoring and alerting for integration health, data freshness, and error rates
  • Document integration patterns and create repeatable playbooks for new EHR deployments
  • Collaborate with agent engineers to ensure integrations support clinical workflow requirements
  • Contribute to compliance documentation for HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST certifications

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with healthcare IT systems and EHR integrations in production environments
  • Deep knowledge of FHIR, HL7v2, and healthcare interoperability standards gained through hands-on implementation
  • Experience with Epic, athenahealth, or similar EHR platforms from an integration perspective-ideally at a company where EHR integration was core to the product's value proposition
  • Strong Python skills including proper use of typing, and experience building highly reliable systems that interact with external APIs (schema design, retry strategies, error propagation)
  • Understanding of healthcare authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, SMART on FHIR, SAML)
  • Experience working directly with health system IT teams on technical implementations
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and PHI handling
  • Both execution-oriented and defensive-minded: you ship integrations while anticipating failure modes
  • Strong debugging skills for distributed systems spanning multiple organizations
  • Clear communication across engineering, clinical, and customer IT stakeholders
  • Experience with healthcare data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) for analytics integrations
  • Background with real-time streaming systems for clinical event processing
  • Knowledge of CDS Hooks or clinical decision support integration patterns
  • Experience with healthcare APIs beyond EHRs (labs, pharmacy, imaging)
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance certifications (HITRUST, SOC 2 for healthcare)
  • Experience building integration monitoring and observability systems
  • Benefits (available to Full-Time Employees)
  • Health & Wellness
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Daily catered lunch and dinner
  • Mental health support and wellness coaching
  • Flexible wellness stipend for fitness, therapy, or personal growth
  • Growth & Development
  • Annual learning budget for courses, books, or conferences
  • Conference attendance budget for professional development
  • Annual team offsite
  • Academic collaboration opportunities
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Our Core Values
  • Patients Win, We Win
  • If patients aren't getting better care, we haven't earned the right to scale. Every internal decision gets pressure-tested: does this make patients' lives better? If we can't draw the line, we question why we're doing it.
  • High Standards, High Care
  • We hold a high bar for the team because patients are counting on us to get this right. But high standards only work with genuine investment in each other. You can take risks, admit mistakes, and challenge ideas-not despite our standards, but because of them.
  • Thoughtful Urgency
  • We move fast by default, but speed without judgment is recklessness. The discipline is knowing which decisions are reversible vs. not. In healthcar
