Responsibilities

  • Perform precise surveys for SEM and TBM tunneling operations, including setting out work, alignment control, and monitoring.

  • Provide essential support to the team by working rotating shifts, including nights, to ensure uninterrupted tunneling operations. Flexibility and adaptability are key to meeting the dynamic demands of this project.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring that all survey activities are conducted safely and in compliance with OTG's safety standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction surveying, with specific experience in tunnel surveying using SEM and TBM methods.
  • Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating survey equipment such as total stations, GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and TBM operators.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to ensure precision and accuracy in all survey data.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, as required by the project schedule.

The SEM/TBM Surveyor will support the tunneling operations on the Ontario Line South project. This role will be responsible for providing accurate survey data to ensure the successful alignment and construction of the tunnel, whether using the Sequential Excavation Method (SEM) or Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). This position requires flexibility, including the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights. The salary range for this position is $75,000 CAD - $95,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.
