$150,000.00 annuallyJob DescriptionThe Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System "OPPRS" currently has approximately 10,500 active, inactive and retired members and beneficiaries in OPPRS, with assets in excess of $3.7 billion. OPPRS is looking for a Chief Financial Officer.TYPICAL FUNCTIONSPlans, directs and coordinates fiscal operations and financial accounting functions or assists in the planning and direction of such functions.Develops accounting systems and procedures for recording revenues and expenditures; directs the maintenance of accounting records concerning appropriations or other revenues, payroll expenses, supply and equipment purchases, travel expenses, contracting costs, and other financial transactions.Plans and directs operational or financial audits and other reviews to ensure financial accountability, ensure compliance with established standards, and enhance agency operating procedures.Directs the preparation of financial statements and reports.Reviews and approves obligations and expenditures as needed.Establishes necessary fiscal controls to ensure appropriate accountability for revenues and expenditures.Directs the review and preparation of budget work programs; reviews and approves agency budget requests and makes recommendations concerning the state budget.Serves as member of Executive Director's Senior StaffREQUIRED SKILLS OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICERSelf motivated and willing to motivate staffCPA is a requirementGood communication skills both oral and writtenKnowledge of Governmental accountingState of Oklahoma accounting system knowledge would be preferableProcurement skillsManagement skills, brainstorms well with othersKnowledge of a Defined Benefit Retirement Plan is preferredTRAINING AND EXPERIENCEGraduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
