Requirements

• License /Certification
• Required:
• Proprietary Private Security Officer or Guard/Patrolperson registration.
• HeartSaver AED
• Valid California Drivers License. Must provide DMV report prior to offer being made. No driving infractions 5 years prior to hire or during time in this job. Infractions include DUI, Suspended or Revoked License, Reckless Driving.
• Kaweah Health approved crisis intervention training within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Supervisor certification within 3 months of hire/transfer.
• Required: Five years experience in police or security field which includes two years continuous experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Able to function decisively under stress.
• Effective leadership ability with team-oriented approach.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Knowledge of criminal law as it relates to job duties.
• Must become familiar with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Testing
• Must pass the Physical Capacity Exam (PCE). This exam includes a 50-pound lifting requirement.
• JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Essential
• Coordinates, manages, directs, and reports daily activities of the Security staff in the protection of Kaweah Health patients, visitors, staff and property.
• Assists Security Manager in developing, revising and implementing security policies and procedures in compliance with Kaweah Health policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
• Reviews and evaluates reports prepared by security staff regarding investigations of reports of criminal activities.
• Conducts follow-up investigation of reports of criminal activity.
• Supervises security personnel, participates in the interviewing and selection of applicants for employment, reviews employee performance, conducts training for Security staff, and applies Kaweah Health and personnel policy to daily operations.
• Intervenes whenever conditions exist that pose an immediate threat to life or health, or poses a threat to equipment or the facility.
• Assists department managers/directors and administrators in enforcing safety regulations and codes.
• Performs all duties of a Security Guard.
