The Technology Portfolio Manager is a critical role responsible for overseeing the successful execution and delivery of projects and initiatives for a specific group or groups. This individual will bridge the gap between requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Delivery Ownership & Execution End-to-End Accountability: Own the delivery outcome of assigned initiatives from ideation/intake through execution, transition, and final close-out. Integrated Planning: Develop and maintain the integrated initiative roadmap and master schedule , identifying all cross-project and cross-team dependencies. Risk and Impediment Management: Proactively identify, prioritize, and manage critical risks, issues, and systemic impediments that threaten the overall initiative timeline or quality, escalating to the executive level as necessary. Scope & Change Control: Partner with GTS SLT to manage scope, define guardrails, and implement an efficient change management process to control scope creep. 2. Stakeholder Management & Communication Executive Reporting: Provide timely, transparent, and concise status reporting to executive sponsors and governance bodies, focusing on progress against outcomes, key risks, and resource utilization. Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between multiple execution teams to ensure alignment, resolve hand-off issues, and maintain a consistent delivery rhythm. Expectation Alignment: Manage expectations of all internal and external stakeholders regarding timelines, scope, quality, and resource availability. 3. Governance & Process Improvement Resource Management: Work with functional managers and resource leads to forecast, secure, and monitor resource capacity and allocation across all initiative components. Financial Tracking: Oversee the initiative budget, tracking actual spend against forecast, and ensuring alignment with approved funding envelopes. Process Adherence: Ensure that all delivery teams adhere to established enterprise governance, risk management, and delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid). Continuous Improvement: Lead retrospectives and post-mortem reviews at the initiative level to capture lessons learned and drive long-term process and framework improvements across the organization. 4. Project Management Plan, control and execute upon approved projects by carrying out the following activities using TMX standard processes and toolsets Define the scope of the project in collaboration with senior management and identify the key drivers and measurements which will be used to evaluate the project upon completion Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project Create an integrated plan that details how scope, schedule, costs, communications, resources, dependencies, risks/issues, quality, change vendors (where applicable) and other key aspects of the project will be managed Develop a detailed schedule for the project that identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project and effectively allocates the resources to the work Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required Execute the project according to the integrated plan Closely monitor approved project budget, scope and timelines, actioning variances on a timely basis, leveraging standard project change request processes Ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and approved and are stored centrally Monitor the progress of the project and adjust course where required to ensure successful delivery, escalating where appropriate Provide regular project status and steering committee reporting as per established TMX standards Lead the project team in re-estimating project effort and costs at the appropriate gates, obtaining approval on any revisions As a member of the PM Chapter is also responsible for ensuring the project management practice at TMX continues to improve by: Keeping documentation on the project m
