Schedule: 35 Hours, Nights, 11pm-6:30am, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Off Friday/Saturday) Position Summary: The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center - South. The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments. EDUCATION: High diploma or GED preferred KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pulling and standing. Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff. Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English. Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work.
