About the role

Founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser. As an Operations Analyst, your work will involve monitoring the DTCC clearing fund, assessing settlement risk, reconciling and clearing same-day settlement trades, and balancing bank figures. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with teams across treasury, technology, and operations. Success in this fast-paced environment requires a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day Fixed Income Ops workflow, primarily working with the repo desk allocating and managing financing positions.
  • Mitigating credit risk by monitoring Treasury and MBS exposure and funding margin calls through cash and collateral.
  • Oversee trade monitoring and reconciliation of the firm's repo positions to minimize settlement risk and ensure prompt settlements.
  • Ensure Repo trading activity is accurately imported into the back-office system and submitted to DTCC.
  • Serve as a liaison between both internally (Front Office, Middle Office, Risk) and externally (custodians, counterparties, 3 rd party vendors, etc.).
  • Optimize end-of-day balances at both BMO and BNY banks.
  • Maintain and update financial records for management team.
  • Support with MBS rolls, pairoffs, confirming voice broker trades, and the opening and closing of new trades.
  • Verify GCF trade details and reconcile them with DTCC records.
  • Opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects focused on optimizing trade workflows and advancing new technology.
  • As a close-knit team, we're looking for someone who can grow alongside us and contribute to our continued success.
  • This is a remote, desk-based position, but given its trading floor nature, it requires constant connectivity and real-time communication to stay fully engaged with the team and market activities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Fixed Income (US Treasuries and MBS) experience in a detail-oriented role in the financial markets industry, ideally in an operations capacity.
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
  • Experience with Excel required; experience with VBA, SQL and/or scripting (i.e Python) preferred.
  • High level of critical thinking and strong communication skills.
  • Proven track record of success both in team settings and working independently.
  • Execute routine tasks with precision and consistent reliable results.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Process a strong understanding of broader business context and ability to anticipate downstream effects.
  • Expected start time of 7am ET, with potential coverage as early as 6am ET.
  • SIE and Series 7 or willingness to obtain within first year.
