About the role
Elliot Hospital's Women's and Children's Services are dedicated to addressing the specific health and wellness needs of women and their children. Our Maternity unit is a 24-26 bed unit averaging 14 mother/baby patients with 55 employees. Patients are high and low risk postpartum mom & babies 35 weeks gestation and above, substance-exposed infants, management of hyperbilirubinemia and hypoglycemia in the newborn, as well as post gynecological surgery. The lactation consultant is to provide a comprehensive lactation services to meet the needs of professional providers, antepartum, post-partum lactating women and their families within Elliot Hospital and within the community.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
- Certified through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners required
- At least three (3) years of clinical experience in an acute healthcare institution
- Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment
