CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: In accordance with BUMEDINST 6220.9B, all personnel, including direct and indirect care providers, administrators, ancillary services, volunteers, students, and others who may come in contact with patients, must receive and maintain appropriate vaccination against seasonal influenza. The incumbent must, as a condition of employment, be immunized on an annual basis against influenza. Refer to local command influenza instruction. As determined by the IH Supervisor, the work may be performed at two or more different IH office locations. The incumbent will report directly to these locations on days assigned by the IH Supervisor. May be required to travel to support special evaluations and go underway on Navy vessels. The incumbent may be exposed to a variety of unpleasant and potentially hazardous conditions during assessments and surveys of the workplace. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be used at any time harmful exposures may occur. Work involves regular and recurring exposure to potentially dangerous or hazardous situations such as working environments where explosives or pyrophoric chemicals are used. Respirators may be required or the IH may use a respirator on a voluntary basis. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONTINUED: The work involves conducting investigations and surveys at a wide range of industrial complexes which require moderate physical exertion such as carrying equipment, standing, walking, bending, climbing and other related movements in an around the worksite. Exposure to hazardous noise levels may be encountered. In such cases, the incumbent would be required to be included in the Hearing Conservation Program and complete annual training and audiometric exams. There may also be potential to be exposed to hazardous atmospheres during the course of sample collection resulting in the need to be respirator qualified, trained and fit tested. ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
