Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate motor insurance applications (Private Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Fleets) by analyzing vehicle types, driver history, usage, and geographical risk, and evaluate Personal Property applications to assess the risk.
  • Quotation & Pricing: Calculate and provide competitive premium quotes. Manage fleet pricing and coordinate with the actuarial team for non-standard risks.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor the loss ratio of the assigned motor and personal property portfolio. Identify trends and recommend adjustments to underwriting guidelines or pricing as needed.
  • Agent & Broker Relations: Provide technical support and advice to the sales team, agents, and brokers regarding policy terms, coverage options, and premium calculations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all underwriting activities and policy wordings strictly adhere to company internal controls and OIC regulations in Thailand.
  • Product Development: Assist in the "revamp" or design of retail motor, personal property and warranty products, including the development of new coverage packages and policy wording. Liaise with Product Development team and the regulators for product filings of new and renewal products.
  • System Optimization: Collaborate with IT/Business Development to improve digital quoting platforms and support in system and Tables set up to ensure pricing and underwriting rules are accurately reflected in the system.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in insurance, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience specifically in Auto and Personal Property in the Thai market.
  • Technical Skills: * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Data analysis, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Powerpon
  • Familiarity with motor insurance rating factors and Thai motor policy tariff structures.
  • Language: Good command of Thai and English (verbal and written) to interact with international stakeholders.

Job Purpose The PL Manager is responsible for portfolio growth and management of the Auto, Personal Property and Warranty Service Products. The person will support business development, pricing, and managing the risk of motor insurance portfolio and the other personal lines products to ensure a profitable and sustainable portfolio. This role involves balancing competitive market rates with sound risk management principles while adhering to the guidelines set by the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) and the organization.
