Locum Occupational Therapist (part Time)

About the role

Scope and Types of Service Direct Services - Initial Assessment upon admission to Home, assessment and treatment of elderly clients with Dementia, Stroke, Fractures and other neurological and orthopedic conditions. - Tailored treatment programme for each individual client. - Treatment and consultation services for all clients. - Recommendations for adaptive equipment for enhancement of functions. - Small group activities with involvement of volunteers. - Recommendation & Fabrication of splints. - Wheelchair prescription and modifications. - Assistive devices - prescription and modification. Consultation - Referrals to other professionals. - Multidisciplinary collaboration with other professionals pertaining to treatment. Training - Regular on-job-training for therapy assistants and staff. - Talks and in-service training for all staff on therapy issues. - Talks for Volunteers. - Training of volunteers for assisting therapy aides in implementing treatment. Others - Outings for clients. - Maintaining regular reports and records. - Consultation on setting up and planning & supervising therapy programs. Requirements/Qualification - Degree in Occupational Therapy - Holds valid Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. For individuals exempted from BCLS, a medical exemption memo, and valid BCLS (Theory) certification are required. - Holds valid full/ conditional registration occupational therapist practising certificate from the Allied Health Professionals Council.
