YOUR TASKS Supports the ESH manager by ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, leading health and safety programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversees occupational health, training, incident prevention, and wellness efforts to maintain a safe, compliant, and proactive workplace. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Report to and assist the ESH manager in identifying, solving, and alleviating health and safety issues in the facility Ensure compliance to ISO 45001/ISO14001 standards and legal compliance to regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement, coordinate, define and implement necessary actions to always keep internal standards and procedures up to date. Responsible for the area of occupational health management and the related contractors. Responsible to develop and drive S and H management campaigns within the plant Sumter. Conduct internal incident investigations and proactively initiates corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Supports the planning and implementation of a local audit procedure to control and check regularly for conformity and continuous improvement potential of the ESSH management system according to ISO 45001 / OSHA requirement. Responsible to close all audit findings from internal and external audits for the area of ISO 45001 in the defined timeframe. Participate in other audits as needed e.g. environmental or other plants Develop and keep up to date the required training material for the Safety and Health management area. Ensure training and qualification of all involved employees for the Safety and Health systems including the record keeping. Develop and communicate Health awareness campaign for the complete plant Drives the development and implementation of health and wellness programs that promote employee well-being. Coordinate wellness activities, ensure proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage, and provide training on health hazards. Ensure the systematical ergonomic evaluation of all existing workplaces together with the IE team. Drives the development of the needed technical improvement measures. Support the evaluation of technical measures, plan the needed investment and ensure that the roll out is being done in a timely manner. Participates in the coordination of Crisis Management Team, giving trainings and conduct drills to guarantee an immediate and adequate response in case of any kind of emergency. Ensures that incidents are reported in our system as required. Contributes to the evaluation of the "Plant Safety Plan" and performs individual risk assessments for the respective area of responsibility. Performs systematic Gemba walks, evaluate the results and use this for continuously improvement actions Follow all plant, ESH, CBS, quality, and department processes and procedures Other duties as assigned NOTE: May not be inclusive of all work required and may be updated as needed. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE Degree in Safety and Health, Environmental, Chemistry, or other related field Five or more years' experience in Safety and Health in a manufacturing business/company Knowledge of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001, OSHA compliance, Safety & Health Management Systems (SHMS), regulatory compliance, and workplace safety standards Experience with risk management and associated methods Must be able to work effectively as part of a team Must have strong communication and training skills Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
