The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. Job Description The Onsite Federal Field Services Manager, based in Washington, D.C., provides technical oversight and strategic direction for a team of Field Engineers and Service professionals. This role ensures the architectural maintenance and operational integrity of mission-critical backhaul infrastructures, including ASTRO 25, WAVE VOIP, and related technologies. As a key leader, the manager oversees field service technicians and technical system managers, ensuring the secure, efficient management of IP networks for federal, state, and local government agencies. Manage strategic planning for event builds. Collaborate to define strategy, establish implementation methodologies, and ensure alignment with technical requirements. Assist in the architecture design and lifecycle management of mission-critical ASTRO 25 backhaul networks and adjacent technologies. Continue documentation standards, including the creation of detailed network diagrams and technical drawings. Evaluate third-party vendor hardware and provide rigorous oversight of subcontractors to ensure adherence to design requirements and project schedules. Manage team resources and personnel assignments to fulfill contractual obligations and support mission-critical operations. Conduct comprehensive network topology assessments, performance reporting, and advanced diagnostic troubleshooting. Lead the engineering community in adopting and maintaining best practices for network design and operational excellence. Candidate Skill: Demonstrate proficiency in comprehensive network architecture and design methodologies. Extensive background in the diagnostic evaluation and performance assessment of active network infrastructures. Professional certifications such as Juniper Network Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), Nokia Routing Specialist I (NRS I), or equivalent industry credentials are highly preferred. Advanced expertise in routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and other relevant technologies. Practical experience in the strategic design and deployment of MPLS solutions. In-depth knowledge of LAN switching protocols and their implementation. Technical proficiency with hardware from leading vendors such as Juniper, Nokia, and HP. Comprehensive understanding of various transport media, including Metro Ethernet, Frame-Relay, and SONET. Substantial knowledge regarding physical layer technologies, specifically fiber, copper, and microwave backhaul. Prior experience managing Motorola ASTRO 25 system architectures. Technical mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Google Workspace applications is required. Skillful use of command line and GUI-based interfaces for equipment provisioning and configuration. Familiarity with Network Management Applications is strongly preferred. Self-directed professional with superior interpersonal skills and exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Commitment to collaborative engagement and building strong partnerships with colleagues, customers, and external vendors. Aptitude for mastering MSI internal processes, product portfolios, and network management solutions. Sophisticated knowledge of ASTRO 25 wide-area voice and data systems, encompassing OTAR/OTAP, MoM, and CAC-PIV cyber security technologies. Candidate Requirements: This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers. Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s) Must be willing to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance Must be able to be onsite daily at the custome
