About the role

You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyze, prepare, submit, and process prior year funding documents; 2) Interpret and reconcile prior year accounts between official and unofficial financial systems and clear prior year suspense accounts (labor and non-labor); 3) Review outstanding billing errors and making corrective actions, identifying each sponsoring agency point of contact to coordinate and communicate corrective actions and; 4) Use an office automation software program to compose financial reports to provide status updates or business information. NPS is a graduate education and advanced research institution with a mission to provide relevant and unique advanced education and research programs to increase the combat effectiveness of commissioned officers of the Naval Service and enhance the security of the United States. NPS employs a workforce consisting of Department of Navy civilian employees (General Schedule and Administratively Determined schedules) and active-duty military personnel from all services. NPS is located on the Naval Support Activity Monterey (NSAM) installation in Monterey, CA. NPS is organized into academic units that are fully accredited to grant Masters and Doctoral Degrees in a multitude of disciplines, using both in-residence education delivery and distance learning.
