Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Safely operates an automated side loader (ASL) truck to collect and transport waste and recyclable materials along assigned routes, including residential streets, alleys, driveways, parking lots, and other areas with varying traffic and access conditions.Loads/unloads waste and/or recycling materials at landfills, recycling centers, or similar facilities.Utilize route management technology, tablets, and communication systems to document service completion and operational issues.Interprets rules and regulations governing the nature of the material being collected and container suitabilityIdentifies unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental proceduresResponds to public inquiries in a courteous manner and provides information within the area of assignmentCompletes daily pre/post trip inspection as defined by federal guidelinesAssists in preventative maintenance of equipment by washing and servicing vehicles with water, grease, oil, and fuel.Prepares routine operating reports, such as material collected, miles driven, and fuel usedProvide guidance and informal training to less experienced operators as assigned.Responsible for properly reporting uncollected refuse and the completion of collectionPerforms other related duties as assigned.Dental insuranceVision insurancePaid time offEquity / stock options
