About the role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DEPARTMENT (N6) of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below and your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of Specialized Experience listed below. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency can include: Providing application software guidance to IT management, leaders, staff, vendors and customers; or collaborating across organization, enterprise or agency boundaries to build alliances and achieve strategic objectives and common goals. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency could include: Presenting IT briefings to leadership to inform or reach a decision; or providing feedback, training, or mentoring in relevant IT skills. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency can include: Proposing innovative IT solutions to operational issues; or resourcing, monitoring and distributing IT work to achieve strategic mission priorities. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in software engineering and integration of complex software solutions applying modern full-scale lifecycle development methods and tools. Experience and technical expertise in areas such as software requirements, planning, designing, developing, programming, integration, cybersecurity, quality assurance, configuration management and sustainment. Experience aligning human capital, IT and budget resources to successfully achieve strategic objectives of the mission and operations. Experience promoting teamwork within groups of IT personnel, and fostering innovation and automation in software solutions integration and work management.
