- Minimum of 8 years' experience in electrical engineering

- Skills & Competencies
- Extensive background in commissioning electrical projects and substations up to 230kV, as well as switchgear from 2.4kV to 24.9kV
- Knowledge of power electronics and motor controls, encompassing variable frequency drives, soft starts, and across-the-line starters
- Expertise in relay settings and programming for distribution feeders, transmission lines, transformers, reclosers, and motors, including proficiency programming Schweitzer relays
- Experience with large motors (exceeding 5,000 HP) and synchronous motors
- Exceptional communication skills-verbal, written, listening, and presentation
- Strong analytical capabilities with proven effectiveness in resolving highly complex issues
- Familiarity with root cause analysis related to electrical failures
- Thorough understanding of electrical safety standards as outlined in NFPA 70E
- Practical knowledge in calculating arc flash hazards using IEEE 1584 guidelines
- Skilled in load transfer and switching at voltages from 480 volts to 230,000 volts, including development of field-ready switching procedures.
- Knowledge of symmetrical components and fault analysis.
- Additional Information
- This position is primarily field-based, requiring over 60% of working hours to be spent in the field. Assignments may involve travel up to 200 miles from the home location; however, it is anticipated that the employee will return home nearly every day.
