About the role
The Physical Therapist will have the education, knowledge and skill to provide out-patient services, focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness and injury. Evaluation, treatment and home programming are provided for children with: sports medicine and orthopedic injuries, brain injuries and neurological impairments, hematology and oncology disorders, musculoskeletal injuries or disorders, gross motor delays, and cardiopulmonary disorders. Also includes evaluations for wheelchairs, walkers and other assistive devices. The position shall include patient and caregiver education and consultation to other professionals, clinics and agencies, both within Cook Children's Health Care System and within the community. Documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services shall follow department and system policies. Requirements
- Master's Degree or equivalent experiences.
- Pediatric Experience Preferred; Developmental and/or Sports Experience Preferred.
- Flexible Hours/shifts to accommodate before and after school hours.
- BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
- State license for physical therapy or eligible for licensure.
