As the Country Head of Medical Affairs, Canada - Seqirus Vaccines, you will lead a highly talented group of health professionals and scientists that have both scientific and clinical expertise. You will successfully execute all critical medical affairs functions, which include developing the strategic medical plan for the Canada region, managing key thought-leader relationships, publishing data from corporate-sponsored trials, disseminating/presenting educational information on Seqirus portfolio of Influenza vaccines, answering questions from healthcare clinicians and disease experts regarding product safety or efficacy that is not addressed in a product's label and supporting research initiatives outside labelled indications for marketed products. You will collaborate with the regional team leader in developing the medical strategy and ensuring consistency of approach and deliverables for Canada Medical Affairs activities. You will also support the commercial strategy within Canada and it's different provinces, providing medical, scientific and technical customer-focused leadership and strategic perspectives across the region, and acting as the lead medical expert where assigned. Reporting to the Executive Director of Medical Affairs, North America, you will also serve as the source of clinical expertise on Seqirus vaccines including primary responsibility for interaction with Canadian health and regulatory agencies for clinical product maintenance activities. Strategy & Scientific Expertise Serve as authoritative source of clinical expertise on Seqirus vaccines including primary responsibility for interaction with NACI, Provincial NITAG's, Health Canada and, regulatory agencies for clinical product activities. Develop and Design the CANADA medical strategic plan and work closely with the Regional Head of Medical Affairs to ensure the implementation of the Med. Affairs strategy plan; Develop key strategic initiatives for the portfolio through life cycle management Provide medical leadership for scientific communications, including core scientific statements, standard responses, Phase IV plans, medical symposia, medical education activities and publications Provide medical input and advice into development of commercial campaigns, where applicable and ensure that timely support and accuracy for Medical Copy Clearance is accomplished for all Seqirus' vaccines, in the CANADA region. Scientific Input and Oversight of Phase 4 studies:, work with external experts and cross functional team to ensure Phase 4 studies for the region are completed to agreed timelines and budget. Helps set direction for the Canada Medical Affairs team, and is responsible for delivering agreed medical strategies and plans, in line with company strategic initiatives and objectives Lead Canada publication planning, in collaboration with the global publication plan, to drive Scientific agenda in alignment with strategic objectives External Network Development & Management Set the scientific strategy, for Thought Leader interactions to build and maintain critical relationships and knowledge management for the therapy area Identify key opinion leaders in infectious disease and cultivate a network of influenza experts within the CANADA region for key areas of scope. Create an environment which serves to establish the MSL team as the conduit for credible, accurate and updated scientific and medical information between KOLs, other investigators and Seqirus' internal functions Maintain excellent professional relationships with medical and public health experts, government officials, immunisation advisory committees, partner companies. Accountable for engaging and cultivating relationships with leading KOLs to gain contribution/ participation in advisory boards, greater understanding of influenza vaccines and insights into unmet patient needs Represents Seqirus at scientific and medical forums, including medical education forums, congresses, and symposia Planning, designing and managing or participating in local, regional, national and global medical Advisory Boards including working with vendor(s) in support of medical affairs strategies Management Manage both field and office-based team members including hiring, training, evaluation and motivation, in alignment with Seqirus' corporate values, medical strategies and objectives. Provide strong leadership to motivate the team and achieve outstanding results that align with department goals. Implement and oversee compliant medical processes including provision of medical information services, capture of adverse events, approval of promotional materials and management of Investigator-initiated clinical studies for the CANADA region.
