Patient Escort I (HM) - Part-Time - Evening Shift - Wilmington Hospital

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments.
• Assist clinical staff with patient transfers.
• Maintain and care for transport equipment.
• Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.
• Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Certification: Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods
• Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
• Knowledge of hospital layout and body mechanics
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
• Physical Requirements:
• Continuous standing, walking, pushing/pulling heavy equipment.
• Occasional bending, crouching, lifting.
• Exposure to cleaning agents, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.

• This position has a starting rate of $17.32 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour.
