About the role
The Manager, Delivery Capability is responsible for driving excellence in program delivery by leading a team of RTEs/Delivery Leads (approximately 10-20 members). This role requires strong leadership and coaching capabilities to enable delivery professionals to consistently achieve successful business outcomes, complemented by hands-on technical expertise to quickly make an impact. The team delivers large-scale programs focused on high-risk technology remediation and executive-prioritized initiatives, all aimed at enhancing the safety of our customers and colleagues while simplifying the work. YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Core purpose (60% role) You coach others in building their own skill sets and capabilities along a defined career path. Lead and co-ordinate resources required to implement and deliver a critical strategic change program encompassing significant business and technology change. You are responsible for the growth and uplift of your team capability and will own, develop and manage the RTE-Delivery Lead Community of Practice with other Chapter Leads. You develop delivery expertise by sharing knowledge and aligning your team members You are a change champion for embedding the Domain Model and new ways of working so that your team can operate effectively within the model You will live our PEAK and Distinctive Leadership values and use the processes and techniques to lead your team effectively You will work closely with delivery leaders to understand resourcing needs across your portfolio. You will lead the recruitment, onboarding and offboarding activities of your team. You will backfill and support other Chapter leaders and their direct reports during times of leave. Additional purpose (40% role) As a seasoned delivery professional, you'll provide SME consultancy where required to help your team deliver effectively. Provide leadership across large scale business outcomes, with significant financial investment, broad resource demands, and extended timeframes. Drive continuous improvement, from identification to implementation and measurement. YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Requirements
- At least 10 - 15 years project management experience relating to major IT and or Business projects.
- Ability to coach and lead senior delivery professionals to achieve business outcomes.
- Comfortable playing a leadership role, including leading workshops, in a cross
- functional business and IT team through the discovery, development and operational
- usage stages of change.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skill
- Complex Stakeholder management and navigating complex political structures.
- Tracking, measuring and continuous improvement of team performance to ensure a high performing team culture with a growth mindset.
- Proactive identification and implementation of continuous delivery optimization. Ability to challenge status quo and theoretical practices and to tailor NAB models to align with a more agile, accelerated, low cost, digital and customer outcomes delivery.
- Creativity and simplifying complex processes and issues, problem solving and data-driven decision making
- Large scale shaping and agile delivery experience within complex environments.
- Shaping and costing initiatives in an accelerated manner.
- Extensive experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with HCD
