Licensed Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

About the role

Veterinary Technicians at LVVSC play a vital role in both patient care and client service. In addition to core technical skills-such as patient restraint, medication administration, IV catheter placement, and phlebotomy-Cardiology Technicians will also be responsible for specialized duties within the department.

Requirements

• Clinical & Technical Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians and cardiologists with:
• Echocardiograms
• ECG placement and monitoring
• Blood pressure monitoring
• Holter monitor placement and client education
• Sedation and anesthesia support
• Interventional cardiology procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile procedure areas and specialized equipment
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection
• Administer medications accurately and safely
• Client & Team Communication:
• Provide compassionate communication and education to clients
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
• Collaborate closely with specialty, ER, anesthesia, and ICU teams
• About You
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience
• Strong knowledge of anesthetic monitoring
• Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and normal vs. abnormal ranges
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• A positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellent client service
• Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a willingness to learn and grow
• Compensation & Schedule
• Salary: $25.00 - $30.00/hour (dependent on experience)
• Relocation Bonus: $5,000 for Licensed Veterinary Technicians
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
