About the role
The Foundry Inspector ensures manufacturing processes comply with set specifications and standards through inspections and effective quality assurance systems. Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance: Maintain and monitor Quality Assurance systems to ensure consistent compliance with customer and foundry process requirements. Oversee inspection plans and quality checkpoints across production stages to ensure process capability and stability.
- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Participate actively in problem-solving activities related to internal complaints. Ensure immediate containment actions are implemented for process and part-related nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- ISO 9001:2015 Implementation & Maintenance: Support the ongoing maintenance and compliance of ISO 9001:2015 certification within the foundry environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, including measurements, concessions, and corrective actions. Ensure full traceability and proper documentation of castings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Production and Technical teams daily to address quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing defects, rework, and customer complaints.

Requirements
- Qualified Artisan (Pattern Maker or Moulder).
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a foundry or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of foundry practices including moulding and casting processes, defect mechanisms, dimensional inspection methods, gauges, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Relevant technical training, certification or degree in Quality.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Previous involvement in cross-functional quality improvement projects.
