About the role
The role The University of Bristol School of Arts is looking for a part-time (28 hours) Facilities Technician to join our Resources team. You will be working with staff and students across the three departments of Film, Theatre and Music helping with practical teaching and learning. You will be responsible for the smooth running and maintenance of the equipment stores in these departments (particularly in the Film AV Stores), looking after the kit and handing it out to students. What will you be doing? Supporting the School Resource Team by providing essential day-to-day operational support, typical duties would include: Maintain specialised equipment including appropriate testing and/or maintenance. Use bespoke online booking system (currently Smarthub/SISO) to manage despatch of equipment to students Provide guidance on basic processes and use of equipment. Maintain stocks of materials and consumables, using University purchasing system. Place, check and deal appropriately with received orders. Maintain records, such as inventories and deliveries including adding equipment details to the online booking system. Use of equipment to support research and/or teaching activities, for example setting up cameras/sound equipment ready for a class. To carry out maintenance and care of teaching and related spaces (including the 300 seat Winston Theatre in the Richmond Building) ensuring spaces are tidy, safe and fit for purpose, and to alert Lead Technician to any issues.
