Position Title: Concessions Worker Job Posting Closing Date: 06/29 The Covey Center for the Arts is hiring a part-time Concessions Worker to assist with concessions sales and crowd flow before, during, and after performances at the Arts Center. This position involves money handling, processing food orders in-person and online, and assisting patrons. Qualified, friendly, and civic-minded individuals interested in participating in the performing arts services provided to Provo City's residents and all of Utah county are encouraged to apply. Job Details What is the compensation? Pay Rate: $12.00 per hour. Payment will be by direct deposit. What will I do? Sell items at the concessions counter before performances, during intermission, and after performances. Process food and beverage orders. Serve customers food and beverage items. Clean concessions area and theater after performances. Count money and b alance daily deposits. Interact with the public. Collaborate with other staff members. Stock and organize concessions area. Perform custodial tasks as needed and assist others as assigned. What requirements do I need to apply? Experience with cash-handling and/or cashiering. Experience working with the public. Working knowledge of computers. Physical strength and agility to perform the work. Must be 16 years or older at the time of hire. Preference given for previous food handling experience. What are the hours? This position requires an average of 20 hours per week, performed during Covey Center events. Typical hours are Monday through Saturday, 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Some hours will fall during the day for matinees, which typically occur on Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. What are the physical and environmental factors? This work requires interacting with the public and d ealing with occasional adverse and stressful situations with a friendly and cheerful demeanor; and standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 25 lbs.) during long periods at a concessions counter. What is the selection process? Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on June 30, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months. Why Provo City?
