Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or instructions to build or repair various items, including furniture, cabinets, doors, and windows
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and wallboard using hand and power tools
• Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, using carpenter's hand and power tools
• Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradesmen to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Maintain tools and equipment, and ensure they are in good working order
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent training
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in carpentry or related field
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
