About the role

As a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Team Member, the Logistics Management Specialist collaborates with Senior Management leadership and develops supply chain management strategies in support of the VA Health Care System and supported catchment area. TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL, YOU MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of Logistics Management Specialist, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes, assisting specialist and/or managers in supply chain management activities; analyze product delivery or supply chain processes to identify or recommend changes; performing or assisting with data analysis, and statistical analysis to identify improvement opportunities. This position requires some degree of specialized knowledge of logistics support activities in areas such as acquisition management, purchasing, transportation, distribution, inventory management and/or control, expendable and non-expendable equipment, and warehouse operations. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. ~OR~ SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related, that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. ~OR~ COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of graduate education and specialized experience, as described above, to meet the total experience requirements at the GS-11 level. Only education beyond (2) two years of graduate education is creditable and is the excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
