Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, APAC (Local Payment Providers)

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the LPM partnership strategy for APAC (including Greater CN, KR, SEA) to support Airwallex's global growth.
• Own and grow our most strategic partner relationships-serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring strong collaboration and commercial success.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to ensure Airwallex maintains a leadership position in global payments.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard new partners, driving the commercial and legal contracting process for local payment methods, schemes, and bank transfer solutions.
• Manage partner relationships and commercial growth, while proactively resolving complex operational escalations related to merchant onboarding, compliance, and transaction stability.
• Establish yourself as an industry thought leader , representing Airwallex in partner meetings, industry events, and forums.

Requirements

• We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.
• 5+ years of experience working with eWallets, BNPLs, PSPs, financial institutions, card schemes, or payment networks.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to build and maintain relationships.
• A good understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional LPMs.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams.
• International experience - working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships.
• A proven track record of working with technology-led businesses in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• You are an exceptional communicator - you're able to connect with people at all levels, both internally and externally, and communicate project expectations effectively.
• You thrive under pressure - and work well with constant change and the ambiguity of a startup environment.
• You have strong negotiation skills - to navigate complex commercia
