This role is accountable for leading a team of Facilities professionals dedicated to maintaining a world-class R&D environment and supporting the ongoing success of the research center. Job Description The Facilities Leader at Aerospace Research will: Contribute to a high-performing, cohesive facilities team by providing effective coaching, clear organization-wide communication, and strong, visible leadership. Partner with Infrastructure colleagues to build a unified "one team, one mission" culture grounded in GE Aerospace Leadership Behaviors: Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Driven. Cultivate a customer-driven mindset by eliminating waste, delivering commitments safely and compliantly, and enabling researchers to perform at their highest effectiveness. Manage strong working relationships and maintain open, transparent communication with the site's three unions, resident businesses, and the research community. Cultivate a customer-driven mindset by ensuring the facilities organization has clear standards to proactively communicate to all stakeholders across the site. Embrace the FLIGHT DECK operating systems to ensure on-time and on budget delivery of all services, including work orders, shop projects and research related infrastructure projects Ensure the facilities capital projects budget is met, prioritizing the site's highest needs and ensuring projects are managed and executed to their scope, on time and on budget. Listen closely to the voice of the customer, and partner closely with FLIGHT DECK leaders to continuously improve critical processes across Niskayuna operations Balance site demand with facilities capacity while meeting allocated capital and operating budgets. Partner with the Global Properties team and other sites to share, adopt, and scale best practices across the broader enterprise. Participate in the Site Operations council to provide facilities updates, and answer inquiries from resident businesses pertaining to facilities services and projects, in line with the Continuing Service Agreement (CSA) Always exemplify and champion the GE Purpose and GE Leadership Behaviors - Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Driven. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university Minimum 10 years of experience in progressively more responsible positions in facilities/global supply chain Working knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems Experience leading in both union and non-union facilities teams Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, with a sense of urgency, to meet deadlines Ability and willingness to handle emergencies outside of normal working hours Demonstrated ability to leverage analytical approaches to problem solving and decision making Inspirational leadership both with direct organization as well as across organizations where there isn't a direct reporting relationship Ability to build and influence strong networks internally and externally, and work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment Ability to develop and implement key strategic initiatives Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening Must be willing to work on site at our facility in Niskayuna, New York Must be 18 years or older This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance. Desired Characteristics: Advanced degree in a relevant field from an accredited university Possess a current US Government Security Clearance.
