About the role

As a Sr. Federal Materials Manager, you will create a strategic plan to optimize warehouse operations, create a standard set of metrics to monitor team performance, set goals for improving performance, and identify areas to reduce cost while maintaining quality. The right person for this role has extensive supply chain knowledge, has developed SOPs and implemented them, has implemented or improved ERP/WMS, and has a track record of managing expensive inventory. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement material management strategies, policies, and procedures to comply with the Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) Part 52.244 and the Defense Federal Acquisitions Regulation Supplement (DFARS) part 252.244-7001. This includes:
  • Hiring & training talent who can manage material flow per Anduril Federal guidelines.
  • Develop processes that increase the efficiency (speed & elimination of waste) and effectiveness of Anduril materials management.
  • Implement necessary systems that match Anduril Federal policies on management of government property & inventory management per the FAR & DFARS.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, manufacturing engineering, logistics, and quality, to aid in accurate demand forecasting, procurement planning, and timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with production planning and manufacturing teams to align material availability with production schedules, minimize disruptions, and meet customer demand on time.
  • Analyze material usage trends, identify opportunities for process improvements, and implement lean practices to optimize material handling, storage, and distribution.
  • Utilize ERP & WMS software systems and tools to track inventory, generate reports, and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and optimize material-related processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols in all material management activities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing warehouse team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years of experience in material management, inventory control, or supply chain management roles in complex engineering/manufacturing companies
  • 3+ years of experience managing a lead of supervisors, associates or technicians
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
  • Ability to relocate, if not already local to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA

Requirements

  • Experience managing 50 reports. Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to lead and develop a team effectively
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and material planning strategies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in using software systems and tools
  • Solid understanding of lean principles and experience in implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to lead and develop a team effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance standards related to material management activities
  • US Salary Range
  • $129,000 - $171,000 USD
  • The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation
