The priority of this position will be to contact new health care providers to build partnerships and create a service map that caters to the health and wellness of IRC clients. The student/Intern will lead 3 different workshops held for clients as well as documenting services, attendance, and increased knowledge. The student/Intern may be expected to provide transportation for clients via IRC vehicles as well as provide bus training to clients if needed. LEARNING OUTCOMES: - Demonstrate an understanding of health promotion of applying mental and physical health knowledge to support wellness and prevention in community or organizational settings and articulate how social determinants of health impact client and community well-being. - Developing and deliver wellness-based interventions by assisting in planning, implementing, and evaluating group-based interventions and adapt wellness programming to meet the needs of diverse populations using inclusive, culturally responsive approaches. - Demonstrate organizational and programmatic skills to contribute to the coordination of wellness activities, administrative planning, and documentation processes. Understanding the structure, mission, and function of a health and wellness program within a larger agency or system. - Engage in ethical and professional practice; student will be able to identify ethical considerations specific to health and wellness programming within a diverse population (e.g. boundaries, confidentiality in group settings, dual relationships, and communication).
