Your new role As our new Senior Substation Engineer, you will be the technical anchor and subject matter expert for medium and high voltage substation design projects across a diverse and growing client base. You will lead engineering efforts from early concept and feasibility through detailed design and construction support, working closely with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary design teams. Your key responsibilities will be: - Lead and perform electrical engineering design for medium and high voltage substation projects, including equipment specification and selection, single-line development, protection and control design, and layout optimization - Develop and review technical reports, engineering specifications, calculations, and design packages for substation facilities - Perform and review electrical engineering calculations, including short circuit analysis, overcurrent protection coordination, and arc flash studies using industry-standard software - Develop substation relay settings and protection schemes, ensuring compliance with applicable utility and interconnection requirements - Provide engineering support during construction, including shop drawing review, RFI responses, site inspections, and punch list development - Serve as technical reviewer and quality lead for work products developed by other engineers, ensuring compliance with NEC, NESC, ANSI/IEEE, and applicable utility standards - Contribute to the on-going development of substations standards to improve the efficiency of future projects - Mentor and develop early- and mid-career engineers, delegating appropriately and supporting their professional growth - Support preparation of engineering proposals and fee estimates, contributing technical depth to business development efforts - Coordinate with civil, structural, and protection and control disciplines to ensure integrated, constructible designs About you From the moment you start at Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you can continue to grow with the company.
