Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying safety and occupational health principles to include the understanding of, reviewing and revising safety and occupational health instructions and rules and regulations. 2) Cleary and effectively articulating, presenting, and promoting a varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. 3) Leading and/or participating in meetings to assess safety hazards. 4) Assisting with the development and conducting a comprehensive safety education program. 5) Reviewing equipment maintenance work processes and support equipment to include industrial work processes and construction standards to determine safety compliance. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
