Real Estate Disputes Knowledge Lawyer - 5+ Years' PQE - Leeds, Manchester, London PURPOSE OF THE ROLE As part of our AG2030 Growth Strategy, we are seeking an ambitious Knowledge Lawyer to join our Real Estate Disputes team. You will play a central role in developing, curating and sharing the team's know-how, keeping our lawyers and clients ahead of legal and market developments in contentious real estate. Working closely with partners and fee earners, you will help to enhance the quality, consistency and efficiency of our advice on high-value, high-profile and often complex real estate litigation. THE TEAM The team acts for an impressive range of clients including landlords, tenants, developers, investors, corporate occupiers, banks & other financial institutions, insolvency practitioners and professional advisers. Our Real Estate Disputes lawyers have extensive experience in high value and complex litigation, including reported cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Alongside this, the team deals with the full spectrum of contentious property work including dilapidations, lease renewals (contested and uncontested), rent review, break options, forfeiture and possession, service charge and other property management disputes, professional negligence and development related disputes. Our lawyers are known for their technical excellence, commercial acumen and strategic litigation approach, and are often involved in precedent setting and cross border matters. WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE As a Knowledge Lawyer in the Real Estate Disputes team, you can expect to: Provide expert advisory support on complex real estate disputes and civil procedure issues, helping colleagues and clients to resolve contentious property queries and align advice with commercial objectives. Monitor, analyse and distil legal and procedural developments into practical updates, precedents, standard documents, playbooks and guidance to support efficient and consistent handling of real estate disputes. Design and deliver client and internal training and support the development of litigation strategies and template approaches for key dispute types and priority clients. Drive innovation in knowledge management by using legal tech and AI tools, sharing best practice, and networking internally and externally to build profile as a subject matter expert in real estate disputes. Contribute to firmwide knowledge and KM strategy through active involvement in the wider Knowledge Lawyer / PSL community and collaboration with BD and marketing on thought leadership and client-facing materials. YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE To be successful in this role, you will: UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQE in Real Estate Disputes, or an experienced Knowledge Lawyer/PSL with a strong real estate disputes focus. Proven contentious property experience (e.g. residential disputes and Building Safety Act, lease renewals, dilapidations, break notices, forfeiture and possession, service charge and rent review disputes, development, title/boundary and rights-related disputes, and property-related professional negligence). Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills, able to interpret complex case law and legislation and produce clear, commercially focused precedents, guidance and training materials. Strong communicator and presenter, confident delivering training and engaging with internal and external audiences, both in person and virtually. Proactive, well-organised and collaborative, able to manage competing priorities, drive projects to completion and build strong relationships across fee-earning, Knowledge, BD and business services teams.
