We are seeking a Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) Claims Officer to join our team on a permanent basis, based in our central Auckland offices. This role assists policy holders, dealers, and repairers with policy coverage queries and claim lodgements, driving customer satisfaction. This role utilises your automotive technical expertise to diagnose and interpret mechanical failures, validate repair scope and costs and negotiate outcomes with repairers. Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant is required to have their Automotive Trade Certificate. Reporting to the MBI Team Leader, you would be responsible for: Registering, assessing and processing all insurance claims assigned to you, making decisions or making recommendations to approve/decline claims Following all processes and guidelines and act within delegated authority Ensuring all documentation is up-to-date, accurate and correctly stored Building strong relationships with dealer and repair networks Resolving customer, repairers, and dealer complaints and/or objections Responding to queries about policy coverage, the claims process, and information requests Working effectively in a team environment, collaborating with others and sharing your knowledge and skills to achieve team goals and objectives About you Automotive Trade Certificate ( required) - perfect for an experienced mechanic looking for a career pivot into the world of insurance!
