We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Shared Platform Services team. This is a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Software Engineering QA. As a Staff Engineer, you will be instrumental in leading functional, system, and automation testing for Zscaler features while expanding automation infrastructure to enhance quality and efficiency. What you'll do (Role Expectations) Collaborate across Development, Product Management, and Federal Cloud Operations teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products through design, testing, and release Lead functional, system, and automation testing efforts, expanding automation coverage and ensuring efficiency and robust quality assurance Manage Federal cloud processes, including deployment procedures, monitoring, and resolving escalations in collaboration with Federal operations and support teams Investigate and resolve complex production issues by identifying root causes, verifying fixes, and developing comprehensive test plans Contribute to team growth by hiring and training new talent, fostering a culture of inclusivity, and staying updated on evolving technologies Who You Are (Success Profile) You thrive in ambiguity. What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications) US Citizenship Required with 5+ years of Software Development or Quality Assurance experience, specifically within networking and security environments Strong expertise in cloud-hosted applications, database operations, API testing, microservices architecture, and automation scripting using Python Proficiency in L4-L7 Internet and Security networking protocols including TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, and HTTP/HTTPS Experience with deployment and monitoring tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Ansible Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Experience with AI in testing and automation, leading quality teams, and familiarity with FedRAMP qualification Deep knowledge of Linux system administration, traffic generation tools like Ixia or Spirent, and relevant cloud or networking certifications Understanding of authentication systems such as LDAP and SAML, encryption solutions, and debugging Linux systems #LI-JM1 #LI-Hybrid Zscaler's salary ranges are benchmarked and are
