Who will you be working with? The Electrical Integration Engineering team delivers design solutions for freight equipment wiring assemblies, manages the packaging of complex wiring systems, arrangments and develops customer maintenance electrical schematics. Operating globally, the team develops innovative technologies that support the advancement of freight locomotive systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across projects. How will you make a difference? As part of the Electrical Integration Engineering team, you will contribute to the design and development of locomotive electrical systems, including point-to-point wiring, electrical schematics, and harness packaging. This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced technologies, high-impact global projects, and collaborate with experienced technical experts and business leaders. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to quality & continuous improvement, and adherence to established Wabtec engineering and business processes. Who are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of and experience with wiring harness design and electrical schematics. Familiarity with engineering tools and software such as Zuken E3, AutoCAD Electrical, Wilmor, Oracle, Siemens NX, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing Bills of Material (BOMs). Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams. Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. What will your typical day look like? Execute and track engineering activities related to requirement flow down, design, analysis, testing, and integration of components, assemblies, or systems, with guidance from senior engineering team members, ensuring alignment with business standards and product requirements. Contribute to the execution and communication of business goals, engineering programs, and processes within the assigned area. Apply technical expertise to solve problems, achieve objectives, and support both short-term and long-term business goals. Develop concept designs, detailed designs, and engineering analyses for locomotive wiring schematics, point-to-point wiring information, wire lists, and electrical components. Review and support the mechanical routing and packaging of power cabling, control wiring, network wiring, conduits, and electrical components across locomotive programs. Take ownership of technical, safety, cost, reliability, and performance requirements associated with schematics and wire lists, while providing inputs to mechanical routing, 3D wiring, and packaging designs. Collaborate with engineering subsystem teams, systems engineering, drafting teams, and supply chain organizations across global locations. Review and approve design outputs developed by engineering and drafting teams to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards. Communicate significant technical issues, risks, and project developments in a timely and effective manner. Lead and participate in technical design reviews in accordance with established Business Tollgate Design Review processes and engineering guidelines. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute innovative ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
