Responsibilities

  • This role is 12-month maximum term contract role offering a hybrid work opportunity where you will be required to work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home.
  • Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Writing effective Payroll/Award/EA test scripts
  • Performing scenario testing and UAT testing on End-to-End process and Award/EBA, leave Policy rules, etc
  • Preparing and performing Training as SME on the product.
  • Leave reconciliations from legacy systems
  • Investigating and testing of new system changes in payroll system
  • Monitoring of Legislation changes and update system processes and policies where required
  • Calculation of Awards (remediation work)
  • Understanding of payroll compliance and all payroll assessment are met the legislative compliance requirements on
  • Stakeholder Management, Communication Management to foster good relationships across the business
  • Continuance of business customer relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and advocate improved utilisation of information systems
  • Actively participate and contribute to any internal team development activities (e.g. knowledge sharing sessions, peer reviews, One on One training, showcases)

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting - Finance (desirable not essential)
  • Experience working with ERP Payroll systems and time and attendance systems such as Dayforce, Deputy, Riteq, Kronos
  • 5 years' experience within a payroll officer / Specialist role
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with the Microsoft product suite
  • Ability to navigate and use payroll systems to extract pay rules, data and to undertake payroll remediation work
  • Considerable payroll process and systems experience, ideally with experience in implementing payroll systems
  • Advanced investigative skills with strong numerical & analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, to provide effective presentation and explanation of payroll matters
  • Flexibility in managing changing priorities, deadlines and opportunities
  • Work effectively in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently
  • Adaptable to change and able to learn new applications, systems, and processes quickly.
  • Ability to identify risk, solve problems and manage multiple priorities
  • High levels of resilience and the ability to work in high pressured situations
