Scaffolder Worker/Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Scaffold Erection and Dismantling:
• Erect, modify, and dismantle scaffolding structures according to specifications.
• Ensure scaffolding is erected, added to, altered, or dismantled in accordance with the approved design.
• Supervise scaffolders during erection and dismantling processes.
• Supervision and Management:
• Lead, coordinate, and supervise scaffolders and other workers to ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Assign daily tasks to scaffolders and monitor progress.
• Ensure all workers are equipped with proper safety equipment at all times.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure all scaffolding activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks.
• Inspect scaffolding structures to ensure they are safe, secure, and meet industry standards.
• Inspection and Certification:
• Conduct daily checks to ensure scaffold integrity, stability, and compliance with safety standards.
• Issue and maintain scaffold tags and certification to indicate safety status.
• Identify, report, and oversee the correction of scaffold defects or issues.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and submit daily reports on scaffold progress, materials used, and issues encountered.
• Document any accidents, near-misses, or unsafe practices and recommend corrective actions.
• Track scaffold materials, tools, and equipment to ensure availability and proper use.
• Training and Mentorship:
• Train scaffolders on proper techniques, best practices, and safety measures.
• Provide guidance on new equipment, materials, or changes to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Valid Scaffolding Erector Certificate/CSOC/WAH/MWAH/BCSS
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
• Completion of the BCA construction site supervisor course.
• Good knowledge of local safety regulations and standards.
• Ability to understand and speak English.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the job.
