About the role

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, sole traders, landlords and partnerships.
- Manage a portfolio of clients and act as their primary point of contact.
- Build strong relationships with clients and provide practical tax advice.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential tax risks.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and filing deadlines.
- Liaise directly with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance where required.
- Assist with personal tax planning matters, including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and residency issues.
- Liaise with our offshore team regarding sole trader accounts prepared for tax purposes.
- Support ad hoc tax advisory and practice development projects.
- About You
- We are looking for an experienced practice accountant who enjoys working directly with clients and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.
- You will ideally have:
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK personal taxation and Self Assessment.
- Experience managing a client portfolio independently.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using TaxCalc, Dext, QuickBooks and other cloud-based software.
