About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for... Technical Lead / Project Management: Lead software and hardware upgrade projects, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and business goals are met. Provide technical guidance and strategic recommendations while keeping leadership informed of progress, risks, and solutions. Design and implement technical solutions that align with business requirements and operational needs. Support critical applications, including participation in an on-call rotation as needed. Business Intelligence Support / Development: Clean, analyze, and manage data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and reliability for reporting and decision-making. Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau to deliver actionable insights. Build and maintain data pipelines, models, and analytics solutions using Python, SQL, Databricks, and Azure Data Platform . Perform advanced analytics, including trend analysis, predictive modeling, and AI-driven reporting, while maintaining data governance and security standards. Partnerships / Customer Service / Consulting: Partner with stakeholders to understand business operations, identify needs, and recommend effective technical solutions. Build strong working relationships through regular communication, meetings, and collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams. Provide training, support, and clear guidance to end users and IT staff on systems and best practices. Professional Development: Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data analytics, system design, and software development. Participate in training, conferences, workshops, and professional development opportunities to strengthen technical, communication, project management, and leadership skills. About the Schedule Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The business intelligence engineer position is involved in on-call technical support 24/7/365, with a mandatory personal cell phone required, per Administrative Directive 9.05. As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency. About You To be considered for this role, you must have the following: Minimum of a 4-year degree with 2+ years of related experience. OR: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a specific field of endeavor, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration with 2+ years of related experience. OR: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with 1+ years of related experience. OR: 6+ years of related experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of management. Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.
