About the role
ProductSpecialist has in-depth knowledge and is responsible for product sales supportwithin the region for defined Product Group(s). The Product Specialist workstowards increasing business success for the relevant products, includingmaximizing revenue, margin, and growth. They assist with productmanagement duties for the relevant Product Group(s). He/she isresponsible for facilitating knowledge transfer to both front line sales andback-office sales support. He/she is first point of contact within theregion for the Product Group(s) and drives new business development whileproviding sales consultancy for the relevant product family/families.
Responsibilities
- Sales support (market penetration):
- Collaborates with Regional Product Line Manager on regional market and sales strategies
- Makes relevant products/solutions easily available for regional sales staff and support the sales teams on customer visits
- Supports Regional Sales Manager and Regional Service Director to ensure both proactive and reactive sales and service support
- Monitors market situation for products to capitalise on commercial opportunities
- Conducts project reviews, assisting payback and ROI analysis
- Product Management (in collaboration with Product Managers):
- Performs market analysis for new innovations
- Provides analysis of customer needs
- Creates business cases for new product developments, including filling out POR
- Undertakes pricing and positioning, and competitor analysis
- Leads product feedback from customers to innovation, building the bridge from regional intelligence to central innovation expertise
- Training/ knowledge transfer:
- Responsible for skills development within regional sales team for the product family/ families
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar relevant subject, or experience equivalent to a four-year degree
- Minimum of three years of relevant product-specific experience
- Knowledge of sales and marketing, including marketing strategy and tactics, business-to-business sales techniques, budgeting, solutions and product design, market needs analysis, pricing, and competitor analysis
- Expertise in training and mentoring, including excellent presentation skills, with an ability to convey an understanding of often complicated materials
- Self-starter who can work independently and also team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide others when necessary
- Proven and demonstrable skills in complex product management
- Excellent organizational, communication and networking skills
- Previous experiences in international assignments/expatriate management preferable
- Strong English skills, both written and verbal
