As a K-12 Director of Mathematics, you will support the successful implementation of all One KIPP K-12 Math initiatives including 100% implementation of our One KIPP aligned math curriculum and driving towards the regional student-centered goals for students to be able to graduate ready for their post-secondary plans. We believe that regional outcomes are our outcomes! The K-12 Director of Mathematics reports to the Senior Director, K-12 Mathematics and is a member of the K-12 Academics Team. Responsibilities The Director will Serve as an internal KIPP Foundation Expert for the K-8 Illustrative Mathematics (IM v.360) curriculum. This includes: Facilitating annual Set the Bar PD and networkwide PD for Curriculum, Assessment, and Systems that support it. Maintain the suite of instructional tools aligned to curriculum and assessments. Engage in regular Academic Progress Monitoring on related curricular assessments to stamp progress to goals and provide guidance on key network actions in Community Calls. Engage in on-site direct coaching via Walkthroughs, Live-the-Lesson Labs, Coaching the Coach, Coaching Meeting Labs, etc. Establish and maintain a regional coaching portfolio to build network exemplars. Support direct PD on-site for curriculum launch and differentiation of PD as needed. Support the network through pull-in support with any implementation challenges via virtual support, in-person lesson models, in-person PD delivery, implementation visits, etc. Skills and Mindsets Mission and Student Focus : Demonstrates passion and commitment to KIPP 's mission and possesses the desire and ability to uphold KIPP 's Core Values (Focus on Excellent Results, Collective Impact, and Courageous Action) Self-Management: Demonstrated record of setting ambitious goals and achieving them with consistency. Problem-Solving : Addresses the root of problems and removes obstacles from work. Understands how solutions may unearth other obstacles further downstream. Shows initiative in generating and recommending ideas and solutions within their own workstreams. Anticipates risks and develops proactive solutions that support their team. Collaboration: Has the interpersonal, diplomatic, relationship building, and communications skills needed to develop successful working relationships with diverse constituents to deliver results. Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Demonstrated track record of student achievement in K-8 mathematics, in their own teaching, through their coaching, and across multiple school sites. 4+ years of math teaching experience.
