Assistant Design Manager (Formwork)

About the role

Role Summary The Assistant Design Manager is responsible for leading the India-based formwork design team and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, compliant formwork designs in support of factory production and project requirements. The role carries accountability for team performance, workload management, and meeting agreed production targets. Key Accountabilities Lead, manage, and develop the formwork design team based in India. Plan, coordinate, and prioritise design workloads to meet monthly production and delivery targets. Ensure formwork designs are fit for purpose, compliant with project requirements, and aligned with factory manufacturing needs. Assist the Technical Design Manager as the primary design interface with Factory, Business Development, and Project teams. Manage design deliverables, changes, and priorities across multiple projects. Monitor performance, identify risks, and escalate issues that may impact quality, safety, cost, or programme. Identify skills gaps within the team and request appropriate training or development support. Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, standards, and ways of working. Authority & Responsibility Accountable for the performance, output, and capability of the assigned design team. Responsible for achieving agreed design production targets and delivery commitments. Authority to recommend resource adjustments, training needs, and process improvements within the design function. General Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times. Work flexibly and support business needs during peak periods. Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Design function. Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Construction) Minimum five (5) years of formwork design experience Strong design skills in AutoCAD 2D & 3D Proficiency in Microsoft Office Well-developed analytical skills Ability to work individually and in a team environment on standard and major projects Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets Good listening and probing skills to diagnose client requirements Able to work independently and as a team player in a results-driven, fast-paced environment Willingness to be involved hands-on in projects if required Engaging personality and confident attitude Excellent communication skills in English language Location: This position will be based in MFE Formwork Technology (I) Pvt.
