Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary We seek a skilled researcher who can support our translational vision science research portfolio through the Bright Center for Human Vision at WashU Medicine. We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented candidate to join our team, bolster our development and implementation of human models of blinding disease, and help advance our mission to understand, preserve, and restore vision. The successful candidate will support the Center's human retinal explant service and generate/maintain retinal organoids used to test novel small molecule drugs and develop new human-relevant gene therapies with the potential to address unmet needs and advance patient care. Work in the lab includes: * Collaboration with the Director of the Bright Center to provide research consultations to plan projects utilizing retinal explant and/or organoid services. * Generation/maintenance of retinal cultures and organoids, which may require occasional weekend hours or flexibility on scheduled workdays. * Rigorous documentation of experimental protocols and results. * Clear communication with the Bright Center team and collaborators to appropriately prioritize projects and provide optimal customer service. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals. Salary Range: Base pay is commensurate with experience.
