Full-time, minimum 40% on campus Faculty: Professional Services School: Finance Are you an experienced, independent finance professional with excellent technical skills and the ability to oversee a portfolio of large, complex activities? If so, this role could be just for you! Reporting to the Finance Manager, the position provides an excellent and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated and technically competent qualified or part qualified chartered accountant. With your demonstrable accountancy experience, IT skills and analytical ability, you will deliver timely, accurate and informative financial advice and reporting to facilitate key business decision making. You will help develop and deliver more efficient, robust processes and controls to enable the business to operate more effectively. What you'll be doing Providing support and information to Professional Services, working closely with colleagues supporting Research and Innovation Building a deep understanding of how funding for research and innovation works and how it is deployed internally so that you can provide advice and guidance to a range of audiences in a way that is sensitive to what they are trying to achieve Helping ensure that financial plans remain sustainable and financial risks are identified, understood and managed Providing professional financial advice in order to examine, identify and assess potential or impending areas of financial risk and make recommendations to minimise risk Communicating key issues relating to financial planning and operation, exchange ideas and best practice, develop relationships within the Faculty/Professional Services and contribute to the implementation of financial strategies and policies. Facilitating the effective operation of financial systems, sharing best practice, and providing training opportunities for staff Work with colleagues within Finance and Professional Services to resolve financial issues and ensure transparency and consistency of information Providing line management support and guidance to the Assistant Finance Business Partners and Senior Finance Assistants.
