Responsibilities
- Tennis programs are offered at the following parks: Bear Valley, Berkeley, Bible, City, Eisenhower, Greenway, Huston, Lindsley, Lowry, Northfield Athletic Complex, Observatory, and Washington Park.
- Tennis Recreation Instructors:
- Plan and facilitate tennis programs and activities at courts throughout Denver for spring, summer, and fall
- Program group adult and youth tennis lessons, coaching a junior tennis team and other types of events
- Coordinate and instruct youth in skills clinics, camps, and other tennis activities
- Participate in additional instruction opportunities, such as overseeing tournaments and leading pickleball programs
- Motivate participants through positive language and encouragement of good sportsmanship
- Commit to participant safety and willingness to enforce program rules
Requirements
- Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Experience in playing tennis at an intermediate competitive level or higher
- Experience in instructing tennis
- Current CPR/First Aid Certifications
- Required Minimum Qualifications

- Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
- Experience: One (1) year of experience in assisting in the operation and instruction of organized recreation activities
- Licensures/Certification(s): Requires certification in CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
- Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
